WHAT: As part of our professional development plan and enhancing teaching approaches of our teachers, we organized a Seminar for our foreign staff and some Thai teachers. The seminar focused on Teaching Methods toward Classroom Management and Critical Thinking of students, lesson planning, assessment and evaluation of learning.
The Seminar was very productive, interactive and practical to apply in our real classroom setting. The speaker’s way of teaching was creating the environment the way he expected it to be rather than merely telling them what he expects them to be. The teachers were participative and having fun while learning, which makes learning more meaningful. However, since time is limited, broad topics were done very quickly which should be extended for deeper understanding and reflection.
WHO: The seminar was conducted by Dr. Edward Roy Krishnan, a managing director of Bangkok School of Management. He holds doctorate degrees in Applied Psychology and Education, as well as Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction specialization. He has written four books and hundreds of articles pertaining to the application of psychology to improve teaching/learning processes and becoming a caring and affective teacher. The speaker was well prepared for the seminar, sharing us based factual experiences, knowledge and wisdom and giving us multiple handouts of the 2-day sessions.
The seminar was attended by International and few Thai colleagues.
WHERE: Seminar was conducted in the Conference Hall, 2nd floor of Song Building last 12th and 13th May, 2015.
